JinJin (Park Jin-woo), the frontman and main rapper of K-pop group ASTRO, has been formally spared from required military duty because to medical reasons.
On June 2, his agency Fantagio issued a statement on ASTRO's official fan café, explaining that "JinJin has been deemed unfit for military service following a detailed physical examination by the Military Manpower Administration, due to health issues related to an autoimmune disorder."
Fantagio went on to say, "While he has no difficulties in his daily life, he does require regular hospital visits for checkups and ongoing management." He has been granted an exemption based on medical advice that such specialized group life, such as military duty, would be difficult."
The agency further stated, "We will continue JinJin's activities with his health as our top priority." We truly appreciate the fans' continuous support and hope for sustained interest in JinJin's future activities."
ASTRO debuted in February 2016 with the mini-album 'Spring Up'. JinJin has played an important role in the group as both leader and main rapper. He also helped produce songs including the special 8th anniversary single "Circles" and the duet "Fly" with the late ASTRO member Moonbin, as well as his 2023 collaborative hit "Wave in My Heart" with rapper YUNHWAY.
